College of Law and Management Studies is the College of Choice for Top Achievers

For highfliers Ms Priyanka Harrichurran and Mr Arjun Nandlal pursuing a career in commerce with the College of Law and Management Studies is their first step towards a bright future.

A successful career in Chartered accountancy is the goal that Nandlal is striving for and its starts with studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting at UKZN.

The former Fairbreeze Secondary School grade 12 pupil passed his matric with seven distinctions and is looking forward to excelling in his academic career.

‘Knowing that you've made your school, family and friends proud is a wonderful feeling - this, and many others, were experienced when I obtained my matric results. Securing the results I got meant that university acceptance and obtaining funding may be a little easier. Being presented with an opportunity like this often motivates one to excel and succeed, and achieve their goals and ambitions. Similarly, my aim is to use this opportunity to educate myself, obtain the necessary qualifications and excel in my chosen career path,’ he said.

Former Westville Girls High School pupil, Harrichurran who achieved seven distinctions and says her love of numbers led to Bachelor of Business Science being her career of choice.

‘From a young age I have had a love for figures and over the years that passion has turned into a great desire to be a part of the world of commerce. This is why I have chosen to study towards a career in accounting. It's where my heart lies,’ she said.

While Nandlal and Harrichurran might only be at the beginning of her academic career but they already planning  for their future and looking forward to pursuing postgraduate qualifications after completing their degrees to give her and edge over her peers.
